People remember what you do, not what you say
I started my day off cruising down the street trying to find some places to take flicks at when I came across this yard. I started walking down the tracks and about half way down I came across these little suits. Passing these I heard what sounded like people getting a little wild in there. I stopped for a minute to try to make out what was going on and their was a couple having sex. I just shrugged it off and started walking down to take some more shots. On my way back there was a man smoking a cigarette like he just got done doing business.
These had to be by far the biggest boxcars I’ve seen towering 2-3 storied high.
La Fairfax
This past Saturday was the LA release for ‘All Gone: The Finest of Street Culture’ Book. By the time that we got there everyone was just standing around outside and mingling, while a few peeps were inside listening to the good tunes. Oh yeah and when we got there they didn’t have anymore tacos and you know how I like my food, So from the start I wasn’t feelin it. We chilled for a bit but not for too long because we had to go get our grub on.
The DJ was bringing the heat all NIGHT!
After the Stussy event you know we had to go get some food so we headed down to Fairfax and hit up this Pita spot. By far the best Pita that we’ve ever had, hands down!
I’m not gonna lie it was our first time here but it was a good experience.. Great spices with great customer service, can’t go wrong.
God damn our brother had to put 2 pounds of special sauce on his pita… Next time were bringing our home made special mayo
After dinner on the way back to the car we stopped by Norm Maxwell Gallery to check out some paintings
These are old but still funny!
Progression…
So last weekend we stopped by Thinkspace to see some new work and to say whats up to Dabs and Myla. We always drive by this spot but have never been inside, it’s a cool little spot. But anyways the main reason is because we’ve been following Dabs and Myla’s work for a long time now and they’ve been in L.A for a minute, so we were hoping that they would be at the show. I think it’s so cool that their engaged and they do street art-graffiti and are successful at it. There aren’t many couples out in the world that could say that.
Dabs and Myla x Craola collaboration one of many.
I didn’t get it… but it was different than the others
Freaky but really fine detailed work. It was so detailed that you can see it’s hairy nipples…. weird
Sars always gets really excited when she likes something
Finally got to spent some time with cutest couple in the business! They were getting down outside the gallery with a little bit of a crowd surrounding them. We love there characters and lettering and to see it live in person was sweet. We’ve been sending each other emails back in forth and they’ve been really cool by keeping us posted about their next move. They been really busy keeping the flow going doing what they love.
Emails is one thing but to go up to some people that you kinda look up to and talk to them is kinda hard for us. We’re very shy people, pretty much little bitches when it comes to it but they made it really easy for us especially when they tell you that they like what we’re doing and to keep pushing. They were telling us that they been traveling a lot and getting ready for the Magic show in Vegas then out to Australia then to Tokyo….. living the dream. After all the traveling they will be heading back to L.A for a show and at the same time to get married in lalaland, how gangster is that. It was nice spending a little time with them and planning a future project with us coming soon.
Venice Paparazzi
This past weekend when we went to the Reiter Gallery we met Edizen Stowell which was the event photographer. She was running around the place like crazy taking photos of everyone in attendance plus she took some time out to show us a few things about her camera which was cool, we learned a few things. Who knows we might have a future project together. If you want to see photos of the event make sure to check out VENICE PAPARAZZI.
Hate my 9-5 grind
So pretty much in my 9 to 5 job I do a lot of driving around to pick up parts and drop off Finished products. It gets really boring, so if I see something nice or something different I gotta take flicks! I’ve been trying to get better but most of them there just point and shoot im not as good or artsy as my partner in crime, but fuck it enjoy!
Another day another gallery…
So we finally came out of the cave… We’ve been really busy pushing our name doin’ our thing! So its been a minute since we’ve been to Venice Beach but we decided to give some support to Mitch Reiter. Mitch is known for the type of photography that he does which is really unique. Some stuff looks really cartoony while others look like he paints on them, His photos look crazy. Its been a while since we’ve seen anything like this!
We met some cool kids that were trying to progress with their work and get their name out there!
This picture took us back to when we use to shred at the ave’s
Edizen Stowell was the event photographer from Venice Paparazzi rocking that boss camera. She was really sweet and was taking some really good photos..
We had to take breaks from the gallery and go outside because there were some beautiful stars in the sky, get at me! Beeeaahh
D.O.D
So you guys probably remember us talking about Dogs Of Design a couple posts back and had nothing but good stuff to say about the team! We just wanted to show you guys a couple art pieces that Max Parker did around his shop. You guys that dont know him he’s the founder C.E.O of D.O.D which is a company that does everything from web and concept development to photography, multimedia etc. He’s so busy with his business that he has little time for his art work, but he’s trying to get back in the game and he’s working on some new pieces for a gallery! We’ll put up the new painting’s in a couple weeks after his show.
Max likes to air brush doors instead of your typical canvas…
Its really hard to take pictures in the hallway because it’s really small but I tried my best. As you can see Max can do a little bit of everything
When you meet max he’s one of those big dudes with a big heart and really smart, but when it comes to his art work most of it is really dark and Gothic
This is Ricky one of Max’s top dogs of the company and also one of our good friends. Ricky has been helping us as-well with our hand drawn designs by cleaning them up on the computer and putting his own twist to them! I swear this kid can do everything you throw at him he’s a really well rounded guy. He has a lot things going on and things that he wants to accomplish, but a lot of the times he’s too busy doing other peoples things that its hard to do his own shit! You can see some of his work on youtube.
This is one of Ricky’s pieces that he did two years ago. BOSSSS
