Digital Print…?

Just got the new book by MAC & RETNA thanks to the guys over at Upper Playground..

There’s not much writing in the book itself because the photos tell it all…

This weekend we made a quick stop to The Hundreds on Rosewood to pick up the premiere issue of The Hundreds Magazine….
We got it hand it to these guys…No one out there is doing Magazines, especially Print Magazines at that… In these times Magazines are dying left and right but The Hundreds are just getting started.

I was quite impressed with the content of the Magazine, there are tons of stuff that you cant find on their website. If you have time, go down to the store and pick yourself up a copy.
Mike Shinoda’s Art Wreck
Saturday evening was Mike Shinoda’s Glorious Excess show in downtown Los Angeles at the JANM. As you can see that is not the end of the line, our dumbasses got there late and ended up waiting in this line for about 1 hour.
This is my partner in crime wating in line…..SWEET!
and more and more and more and more…..
Day turns into night…still in the same spot…SWEET!
Finally after an hour of waiting, we get inside to take the first picture which ended up being the LAST… Getting told to not take pictures and dragged out is definitely not a great experience, the pictures you are going to see below are out of focus we were just clicking away while being kicked out.

Still clicking…
‘DOIN IT’ THE END
P.S if you want to look at the art pictures make sure to head over to THE HUNDREDS website…Thanks Bobby
HOLLYWOOD DREAMS

This weekend on the way to Hollywood we saw some really dope art, Some people are killin it out there.

Our homeboy Aladdin decided to stop by and show us his new carpet ride….

Here’s our Little Ninja friend posted up supporting The Hundreds..
Dang, Barracuda’s already got a new piece up, had to take down Kofie’s but Barracuda’s always pushing it!
L.A’s in need of a football team…Lets Bring Football Back to LA!
I almost had to pick me up this CUSTOM made FUR bike..
Melrose
So a couple weeks back we headed out to Fairfax and Melrose and it happened to be Johnny Cupcakes 1 Year Annivarsary for his L.A shop. Melrose itself has somewhat died a bit, there are tons of store closed but on the other hand Fairfax seems to be growing, It’ll be interesting to see what will happen in a few years time.
We ended up talking to some of these kids and some of them had been camping out for about a week just to get some exclusive shirts and to celebrate Johnny’s 1 year here in LA
Most of them were really cool and talkative….. but some were a little camera shy. Overall a great amount of support.
Talk about support, check out these girls in line using a ripped open cardboard box for shade.
There still seems to be an abundance of great art behind the streets of melrose after all these years…
Commitment
Our good friend Nick and the guys over at GURU tattoo recently had a show at Canvas LA called “Commitment” The show consists of 18 full body suit paintings that showcase the connection of art and tattooing on the human canvas.
Here’s a close up of one of Nicks painting’s. The detail that went into these is amazing, most of them were done with watercolor..
I don’t remember who’s painting this was but it was by far one of the favorites. The colors used and how he incorporated everything to flow so good was amazing.
Adam Hathorn really showed that staying within the lines isn’t necessary in order to make something stand out
The size of the paintings is just unreal plus you have the thick wood framing that makes it pop that much more. Your looking at least 100 hours of work into each painting.
If your ever in the Fairfax district Canvas LA is a must.
Eine did several pieces around Fairfax and Melrose the day befor his debut show in LA and the only way to see them is if you get there before all shops open..
LAartlab

We ended up going to the LAartlab’s discussion with Bobby and Ben from The Hundreds, Lanie from Hellz-Bellz, and Rick Klotz from Freshjive on “what it takes to start a label, develop it, keep it sharp and maintain its creative integrity.” It was great being able to hear and see first hand what these guys went through when they first started there label’s. There were a ton of people that showed up, some didn’t even have seats and had to stand the entire time, it was roughly a two hour lecture. A great way to get inspired and to push your brand even harder than before…
